Cash Pay or Out of Network Billing

If your insurance isn’t eligible or you’d prefer to pay out-of-pocket, you can pay by cash, check, debit or credit card, HSA, or FSA card at the end of each session.

I’m happy to provide superbills, which are detailed receipts that include everything your insurance company needs—like session dates, diagnosis and treatment codes, therapist information, and fees—so you can easily request reimbursement if applicable.

Good Faith Estimate (No Surprises Act)

Under federal law (the No Surprises Act), you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) explaining the expected cost of your mental health services if:

  • You are uninsured, or

  • You choose not to use insurance for your sessions.

What this means for you

  • You can request a Good Faith Estimate at any time before or during services.

  • The estimate will outline the expected costs of services you are scheduled for.

  • Actual treatment needs may change, and additional sessions or services may affect the final cost.

  • If you receive a bill that is $400 or more above the Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charge.

Your dispute rights

If your bill is significantly higher than your GFE, you can:

  • Ask me to update the bill to match the estimate

  • Negotiate the bill

  • Ask about financial assistance (if applicable)

  • File a dispute with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) within 120 days of the bill

There is a $25 fee to file a formal dispute.
